This 200 year old farmhouse has traditional Charentais charm with its exposed stone walls and oak beams as well as the modern essentials of a well-equipped family kitchen with fridge-freezer, dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, toaster and large family oven.
Nestled in the hamlet of La Grue, amongst the open countryside, sunflowers and vines, 'La Ferme' has its own large, private, courtyard garden with a stone barbecue and outdoor dining table for six.
The accommodation is flexible for families with two double bedrooms and a third bedroom with bunk beds. There is an additional downstairs toilet as well as a family bathroom with a shower over the bath.
There is a shared courtyard area for all guests which includes a games barn with table tennis and babyfoot. Across the lane is our large, 12 by 6 metre heated pool with its spacious terrace and shaded pergola area. You're welcome to pick the ripe figs from the tree!
A games field is nearby for the children to run off some steam.
We provide equipment for babies and toddlers. We also have lots of games, toys and activities for children.
Ask for more information about bike hire delivered to your gite and star gazing tours. The quiet lanes are ideal for walking and cycling.
There is parking space for two cars.
We are five minutes' drive from the market town of Aigre with all its amenities from gift shop, PMU Tabac, Presse, Boucherie, two Boulangerie, cafes, restaurants, pharmacie, clothes shop and supermarket.
Within an hour's drive, there is lots to do for families with days out at Paleosite for lovers of prehistory, Zoodysee and Monkey Valley for animal lovers, Les Petits Bateaux at Saint Savinien for budding sailors, Les Chateaux des Enigmes at Pons and you don't need to go far for the beach experience with the huge Plan d'eau at Angouleme with all its watersports and activities.

Sheets and linens included

If you require towels, please let us know prior to your stay. We have beach towels for hire. Please do not use our bathroom towels by the pool. We change your bedding every 7 days.

We live across the lane - we are there to help and give information about local activities. We will welcome you and show you around the property.
